Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen Wiki
Your complete companion for every hand-drawn world, puzzle, and collectible in Joe Brumm's original adventure.
Game Overview
Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen is a family-friendly adventure game developed by Halfbrick Studios with an original story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm. When Dad (Bandit) snatches the Gold Pen Bluey needs to finish her drawing, the Heeler family is swept into Bluey's hand-drawn imagination — a Zelda-like quest made accessible for young children.
Players control Bluey as she explores nine whimsical, sketchbook-inspired levels alongside Bingoose (Bingo's honk-happy alter ego). The game features no ads, no subscriptions, and no microtransactions on mobile — just a free demo of the first level and a one-time purchase to unlock the full adventure.
Released on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS in December 2025, Android in January 2026, and consoles and PC in May 2026, the game runs on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

Quick Start Guide
- 1
Try the Free Demo First
Mobile players can experience the entire first level without paying. Use this to learn movement, the magic wand, and how Goose Food progression works before committing to the full game.
- 2
Learn the Controls
Move Bluey with the on-screen joystick (mobile) or analog stick (console). The magic wand is context-sensitive — tap or press the action button near star-marked blocks to pull, push, or break them. Console versions show button hints on screen.
- 3
Follow Bingoose
When unsure where to go, watch Bingoose. She flies toward important locations — Goose Food, beads, fast-travel points — and honks to get your attention. This gentle navigation prevents frustration for younger players.
- 4
Collect Goose Food to Progress
Each level requires a set amount of Goose Food (typically around 8). Feed it to Bingoose so she lays a silver egg, which unlocks the portal to the next chapter. You do not need 100% completion to advance.
Story & Characters
The entire adventure unfolds around the Heeler family's kitchen table. Bandit, Chilli, Bluey, and Bingo use colored pens to co-create an imaginary world — and Dad decides to play the villain.
Bluey
The player character. Bluey wields a magic wand and leads the quest to reclaim her stolen Gold Pen from King Goldie Horns.
Bingoose
Bingo's alter ego — a plucky goose who honks, navigates, and lays silver eggs when fed enough Goose Food to help progress through each level.
King Goldie Horns
Bandit in villain mode. He rides a cool bike, guards the Gold Pen, and serves as the final boss in his shining kingdom.
Creator of Worlds
Chilli designs every imaginary land. She sets quests, offers to skip to the level exit once you have enough Goose Food, and narrates the family's make-believe.
Core Mechanics
Magic Wand
Bluey's primary tool. Pull and push blocks marked with stars to build platforms, break destructible star blocks, and solve environmental puzzles. Abilities are context-sensitive — stand near an object and the wand activates the correct action.
Movement & Traversal
Beyond walking, Bluey can glide, fly, skate, and ride vehicles including boats, bikes, jetpacks, and gliders. Each level introduces playful traversal that makes exploration feel like play rather than a chore.
Bingoose Navigation
Bingoose acts as a soft compass. When you are near collectibles or key locations, she flies toward them and honks. Follow her when stuck — she never spoils solutions, only points toward areas worth exploring.
Level Guardians
Each chapter has a guardian NPC (played by Chilli or Bandit) with a specific need. Collect enough Goose Food, feed Bingoose, and her silver egg resolves the guardian's problem — granting passage to the next world.
Progression Guide
Understanding the Goose Food loop is the single most important thing for new players and parents helping their children.
Explore the Level
Search for Goose Food hidden behind puzzles, side quests, trivia questions, and exploration rewards.
Optional Side Activities
Collect beads, rescue critters, and complete mini-quests. These often reward extra Goose Food or keys for hidden areas.
Feed Bingoose
Once you have enough Goose Food (usually ~8 per level), feed Bingoose at the designated spot.
Silver Egg
Bingoose lays a silver egg that solves the level guardian's problem — opening the portal forward.
Skip Option
Chilli (Creator of Worlds) offers to send you directly to the level exit once the Goose Food requirement is met. You can return later for 100% collection.
Tip: Levels contain more Goose Food than the minimum required. Extra food comes from optional puzzles — explore thoroughly but do not feel pressured to find everything before moving on.
Puzzle Types & Solutions
Puzzles reward observation and creativity over strict logic. If you are stuck, work through this checklist before searching for a walkthrough.
Wand Push & Pull
Stand near star-marked blocks and use the wand to drag them into position. Create staircases, bridges, or clear blocked passages.
Star Block Destruction
Some blocks break when hit with the wand. Clear rubble to reveal hidden paths or trapped collectibles.
Timed Star Collection
Collect glowing stars before they vanish. Plan your route before starting — you can retry without penalty.
Critter Rescue
Guide lost bugs and animals back to their homes. Escort missions are gentle and often gate optional rewards.
Riddles & Hide-and-Seek
NPCs ask simple riddles or send you searching for hidden objects. Read dialogue carefully — answers are usually in the environment.
Trivia & Beads
Answer family-friendly trivia for bead rewards. Beads contribute to optional completion but are not required for story progress.
Stuck? Try This Checklist
- — Interact with every object in the area — push, pull, and stand near items to trigger wand actions.
- — Follow Bingoose — she honks near important spots you may have missed.
- — Look for star-marked blocks that can be moved to create platforms or clear paths.
- — Check for critters that need escorting — completing their quest often rewards Goose Food.
- — Answer trivia questions from NPCs — correct answers grant beads or food.
- — Explore side paths and elevated areas — collectibles hide off the main route.

Parent & Co-op Tips
Age Appropriateness
Rated 4+. Content aligns with the Bluey TV series — humor, warmth, and family play. No online chat, no multiplayer interaction with strangers, and no ads.
Co-op Without Frustration
Take turns controlling Bluey. When a child is stuck, suggest following Bingoose or looking for star blocks rather than solving the puzzle for them. The game is designed for gentle guidance.
Session Length
Each level takes 20–40 minutes depending on exploration depth. Natural break points occur after each silver egg. The full game completes in roughly 4–6 hours.
Accessibility
Controls are simple and forgiving — no punishing fail states or difficult timed jumps. Console versions display on-screen button hints. Audio issues can usually be resolved by checking device mute settings and in-game volume.
All 9 Levels
Each level is a hand-drawn world with unique terrain, puzzles, and secrets. Level 1 is free on mobile; levels 2–9 require the full game purchase.

The Meadow & Forest
Combined Green Fields
A dual-biome level blending open meadows with dense woodland. Ideal for completionists chasing 100% collectibles.

9 King Goldie Horns' Kingdom
Final Confrontation
King Goldie Horns' Kingdom
Final Confrontation
Storm Bandit's shining kingdom for the final boss encounter. Reclaim the Gold Pen and restore order to Bluey's drawing.
Tips: The boss fight is narrative and approachable for kids. Focus on using wand mechanics learned throughout the game — no new complex patterns.
Collectibles & 100% Completion
The HUD shows X/Y progress for each collectible type. You only need the minimum Goose Food to finish the story — everything else is optional but rewarding for completionists.
Goose Food
Primary progression currency. Required in set amounts per level (~8). Found through puzzles, exploration, and side quests. Always prioritize Goose Food if you want to advance the story.
Beads
Optional collectibles scattered across every level. Earned from exploration, trivia, and mini-quests. Beads contribute to completion percentage shown in the HUD.
Critters
Lost bugs and animals that need returning home. Each level features critter rescue side content. Completing rescues often unlocks bonus Goose Food or hidden area keys.
Stickers & Hidden Treasures
Secret items tucked in hard-to-reach corners. Thorough exploration after getting the silver egg is the best strategy for 100% completion.
Collection Priority
Story first: collect required Goose Food and feed Bingoose. Then revisit levels for beads, critters, and stickers if chasing 100%. Chilli's skip option lets you advance without full completion.
